Statement by Reform UK's party political candidate Simon Evans after local election results
'Reform stood at the local elections for the first time in its short four year history; the results although disappointing were not unexpected as it was our first election in West Lancashire.
'But we have learned valuable lessons to take into the general election that we will contest robustly and with renewed energy and a dynamic set of policies for West Lancashire.
'These include 20p off every litre of fuel, fighting to get Ormskirk A&E reopened fully, fighting for infrastructure for the area such as pressing for seed funding for innovations such as an ice rink in Skem and cinema in Ormskirk, zero tax for the first £20,000 earned, scrapping VAT on energy bills, and abolishing business rates on small & medium businesses.'
He added: "I bumped into Ashley Dalton MP and challenged her to an election husting to include all other candidates.
"I had a non committal answer from her, we wait to hear when? and where?"

Let’s face it, they can come up with all the crack pot polices they want as they know they will never even get close to having to do anything with them. I’m sure they have no plan how they would pay for all of this, however it doesn’t really matter as no one will vote for them anyway.
